New Brunswick’s Long Covered Bridge

We arrived in Woodstock, New Brunswick on Friday, June 26, and found a delightful campground of 15 spaces along the St. John River. Not only can we see the river from our windshield window but also it is far enough off the main road so we don’t get traffic noise. We have 50 amps of electricity, water, and sewer. Since it is raining and we have such a nice spot, we decided to stay for 6 days to catch up on the Internet and get some rest.

Terry is doing the most important thing on the whole trip. He is reading about the Maritime Provinces and getting reservations on the ferry for going to New Foundland and coming back.

We did take a trip to Hartland, New Brunswick, in our car to drive through the longest covered bridge in the world. It is 1282 feet long. The drive along the St. John River was beautiful with farmhouses and buildings dotting the countryside. We even saw a bird in this nest, which we think is an osprey.

Remember that double clicking in the lower left side of the photo can enlarge all our pictures. Whatever you are doing for July 1, which is Canada Day or July 4th, which is Independence Day - be sure to have fun.

Thanks, Darlene. You are in an area that Suzy, particularly, and I are eager to see. You are helping us get a preview of some future visit!

We do love covered bridges, and we MUST add that one to our collection.

Incidentally, thank you for the comment you added to our blog about our new trailer. It is always appreciated.
